I’ve been staring at this question for a while. I’m not really a big fan of laws. I like smaller government staying out of my business. I don’t think they have our best interests in mind. Any party. Of any government. They piggy-back on issues people care about only to get votes. More votes means more party members and more party members mean more power and more power means that the people with money will give them more of it. All politicians are corrupt and only looking out for their own interests, or the interests that the powerful people in their party tell them to look out for, and I think anyone who blindly supports any politician simply because they have a D or an R next to their name is a fool. ANYWAY, I think the problem I’ve been having with this question is that I wouldn’t seriously make any more laws. And I wanted to answer this question sincerely instead of making a joke about it. Which, by the way, if I had, my laws would have been:
- Every Sunday everyone in the world gives me 1 dollar.
- Cheeseburgers for EVERYONE, EVERY DAY!
- And, and I know you’re going to hate this one, but no more cats allowed! Only puppies all the time forever!
Those laws are obviously dumb, but this has been so much of a difficult question for me to answer. I don’t like saying “If you do this, then this will happen to you.” And I like even less saying, “You HAVE to do this, or else!” I believe that the laws we need to function productively as a society are already there, and I believe that there are a lot more laws out there which hinder us and do more harm than good. So I wouldn’t pass any more. I would get rid of a bunch, for sure, but I wouldn’t pass any.
